Swimmers split meet with Pottsville

The Whitehall swimming teams split with Pottsville in a meet from last week.

The girls won 98-72 while the boys were edged 87-83.

On the girls side, the Zephs captured all but three events on the day. Steph Setar was the lone double winner for the girls taking the 200 IM in 2:22.69 and the 100 back in 1:03.29.

Grace Sullivan won the 50 free for Whitehall touching in 27.51. Alexus Merkert was also a winner taking the 100 fly in 1:05.82. Mairead Doyle won the 100 free in 58.77 and Katie Lutterschmidt captured the 500 free in 6:17.73.

The Whitehall 200 medley relay team was also a winner taking their event in 1:59.88. Setar, Doyle, Merkert and Hope Millets made up the winning team. The 200 free relay team also won, finishing with a time of 1:49.79. That team was made up of Merkert, Doyle, Kallie Lyle and Sullivan.

For the boys, Michael Haggerty and Dan Jablonski were both double-winners in the loss.

Haggerty won the 200 free in 1:59.33 as well as the 500 free in 5:16.33. Jablonski took the 50 free in 24.49 as well as the 100 free in 53.16.

Felix Figueroa and Jordan Rivera were also winners for the Zephyr boys. Figueroa took the 100 fly in 1:00.9 while Rivera won the 100 breast in 1:09.05.

Pottsville took both the 400 free relay and the 200 free relay but the team of Jack Yadush, Rivera, Figueroa and Jablonski won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:52.08.
