PeepsFest, a two-day New Year’s Eve festival, is again being presented Dec. 30 and 31 at SteelStacks, Bethlehem.

The Peeps Chick Drop, a 4.5-foot tall, 85-pound lit Peeps Chick, descends at 5:15 p.m. Dec. 31.

New for this year is the Peeps Chick Rising at 11 a.m. Dec. 30.

Other new and returning activities include: the Peeps diorama competition, Peeps s’mores making, vulture mask-making, trivia games and plate rubbings. On display Dec. 30 are a great horned owl, red tailed hawk, black rat snake and more from the Wildlands Conservancy.

Dutch Springs. partnering with ArtsQuest and Just Born for the third year in a row, will provide programming in the Blast Furnace Room. Activities include building a spaghetti tower at the Leaning Tower of Peeps, seeing what it feels like to breathe underwater like a scuba diver with Rub-A-Dub-Dub Scuba in a Tub, learning about and meeting a dog sled team member and getting your photograph taken with Splash, Dutch Springs’ new mascot.

There will be scientific demonstrations by representatiaves from the Da Vinci Science Center at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 1 p.m. Dec. 30 and 31.

Festival hours: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Dec. 30; 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Dec. 31. Admission is free, although a few activities, such as the family disco lounge and the 5K rum require an admission ticket or additional charge.
