The senior citizens application deadline for the state property tax and rent rebate program is Dec. 31.

The Lottery-funded program benefits seniors, people with disabilities, widows and widowers who reside in Pennsylvania.

Eligible participants may receive a rebate of up to $975 based on their property taxes or rent paid during 2014. Based on income, those who are eligible include Pennsylvanians who are 65 years of age and older, widowers and widows who are 50 years of age and older, and people with disabilities who are 18 years of age and older are eligible.

Applications and free help is available at local Pennsylvania senatorial offices, the Department of Revenue district offices, local Area Agencies on Aging and senior centers; or by calling 1-888-222-9190.
