The Institute for Jewish-Christian Understanding of Muhlenberg College, 2400 Chew St., Allentown, will offer a free program, “Journeys to Justice,” beginning in late January.
The opening forum will present ideas from Judaism, Christianity, and secular society about the importance of justice.
Participants will also be able to meet with representatives of local justice organizations to learn about their work and what motivates them to engage in it.
Over the months of February and March, participants will have opportunities to visit the justice organizations to volunteer, engage in dialogue, or observe the work in progress.
A closing forum on March 29 will be structured around dialogue to share experiences and to explore the meaning of justice for participants themselves and in our communities.
Rabbi Allen Juda and Carole Chuk will give brief keynote presentations at the January forum.
Individuals will reflect on their introductory comments from Jewish, Christian, and secular perspectives.
Arrangements to engage with local justice programs will be made at the opening forum.
The opening and closing forums will take place 7-9 pm. Jan. 20 and March 29 in Miller Forum of Moyer Hall on the Muhlenberg College campus.
Snow date for the opening forum is Jan. 27, same time, in Seegers Union.
