Basil Piripavel, 90, of Bethlehem, died Dec. 18, 2015. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Anna (Boldizar) and Michael Piripavel. He was the husband of Mary (Prestosh) Piripavel for 65 years.
He was a structural draftsman for the Bethlehem Steel.
He was a graduate of Bethlehem Technical High School.
He was in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the destroyer USS Meredith DD726, which was sunk during the Normandy invasion.
He was a member of St. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Bethlehem.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Diane and her husband Joe Reese; and a son, William G. and his wife Cynthia.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Michael and George Piripavel; and five sisters, Anna Hebor, Helen Alfonso, Margaret Kospiah, Mary Piripavel and Julia Pekar.
Arrangements were made by Connell Funeral Home Inc., Bethlehem.
