Upper Macungie police are investigating a burglary that occurred in the 1000 block of Wood Lane in the northern section of the township.

According to Lt. Peter Nickischer, criminal investigations and community services division commander, the burglary, which occurred between the hours of midnight and 6:30 a.m. Dec. 14 involved the theft of a handgun and cash.

In addition to this burglary, officers contacted three neighbors, who said suspicious activity occurred nearby, garage door locks were turned and a screen door was out of place.

Nickischer said a neighbor in the area reported seeing a silver 2000-2001 PT Cruiser in the area around 3 a.m. Dec. 15 and 16.

Residents should be aware of this vehicle and contact police if it is seen in the area around this time frame again.
