It is hard to believe the holidays are upon us, let alone the new year is a few short weeks away.

Santa will make his way around the eastern side of the township Dec. 19 on a fire truck. Listen for the sirens and look for the lights. Santa is set to begin his trip 8:30 a.m. In addition, please drive slowly through neighborhoods where you see Santa on the firetruck as there will be children and pets around. Let’s keep everyone safe.

There is a school board meeting in the administration building 7:30 p.m. Dec. 16.

The spring musical at Salisbury High School, “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” is scheduled March 3 to 6, 2016. This is a fun musical about children with grownup problems but meant to be silly and fun.

Auditions will be held 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 21 in the auditorium. Students do not need to be there the entire time. Students must be familiar with the audition pieces; packets can be obtained from Mrs. Pennella in the athletics/activities office.

Callbacks will be 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 22. Students may be given a time slot or may be needed the entire time. Anyone auditioning must be available Dec. 22.

The Salisbury Township School District will dismiss early Dec. 23.

SHS and Salisbury Middle School will dismiss 12:15 p.m. and Harry S Truman Elementary School and Western Salisbury Elementary School will both dismiss 1 p.m. District schools will be closed Dec. 24 through Jan. 1, 2016. School will reopen Jan. 4, 2016.

There will be an operations committee meeting at the administrative building 7 p.m. Jan. 4, 2016.

The school district is offering a MAC basics computer workshop 9 to 10 a.m. Jan. 12, 2016 at the administration building, 1140 Salisbury Road. Basic computer use will be covered. Register at www.stsd.org/workshop.

The Franko Farm yard waste drop-off site is now closed for the season. It will reopen in the spring.
