Miriam E. Ritter, 103, of Allentown, died Dec. 9, 2015, in the company of her family at her home.

Born in Lower Saucon Township and raised in Butztown, she was the daughter of the late Sally A. (Rinker) and Alvin P. Unangst.

She was predeceased in June 1997 by her husband of 52 years, Robert V. Ritter.

A 1930 graduate of Liberty High School, she was a 1934 graduate of Allentown Hospital School of Nursing.

She worked in the laboratory of Allentown Hospital and as a private duty nurse.

A longtime member of Christ Lutheran Church, Allentown, she formerly served there as a Sunday School teacher.

She was predeceased by brothers Addison F. and Harvey J. Unangst.

Her survivors include a son Robert V. Jr. and wife Susan M. (Ratcliffe), of Allentown; grandson Robert V. III and husband Dean J. Fisher of Palmerton; granddaughter Sara M. Ritter of Allentown.

Her services will be 1:30 p.m. Dec. 17 at Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 W. Highland St., Allentown.

Calling begins noon. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Allentown.
