Kathleen Brown
Kathleen Brown, 95, of Orefield died Dec. 8, 2015, surrounded by family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Russel C. Brown in 2013.
Born Sept. 16, 1920 in Fullerton, she was the daughter of Edna F. (Long) and John F. Snyder.
She was predeceased by siblings twin brother John “Jack” Snyder, Myrtle Fennelly, Grace Diehl and Frances Long.
A 1938 graduate of Whitehall High School, she taught Sunday School in her youth at St. John’s Evangelical Reformed Church, Fullerton.
She was a life member of Eastern Star Chapter 458, Slatington.
Having worked for Reinert Electric in Allentown before and after WWII, she retired in 1985 from Parkland School District where she was a library secretary.
She enjoyed ballroom dancing with her husband and attending her grandchildren’s activities.
A member of Jordan United Church of Christ, she participated in the Habitat for Humanity program.
She lived for her family and will be greatly missed by everyone.
Her survivors include a son, Barry J. Brown of Whitehall and companion Bonnie Reabold; daughters Barbara K. Brown and husband Louis D. Michael of The Villages, Fla., and Peggy Goetz of Scituate, Mass.; grandchildren Lenore “Lynn” and Husband David W. Tretter Sr. of Ironton; grandsons Alex Goetz of Vermont, Anders and Connor Goetz of Scituate, Nicole Schultz and husband Jon of Kempton; and great- grandchildren David Jr. and Kyle Tretter of Ironton,
Her memorial service is planned to take place 6:30 p.m. Dec. 28 at Jordan UCC, 1837 Church Road, South Whitehall Township. Refreshments will immediately follow services.
