Donald J. Shurilla, 78, formerly of Allentown, died Dec. 8, 2015, in Fellowship Terrace, Whitehall.
He and his wifw Marilyn A. (Davis) Shurilla were married 54 years on June 17.
Born Dec. 10, 1936, in Reading, Berks County, he was the son of the late Anthony and Eleanor (Lehman) Shurilla.
A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, earning a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, he was a partner at the former F&M Associates in Allentown for 30 years before retiring.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Allentown, serving on various committees.
He was involved in many community organizations throughout his life including the Kiwanis Club and the PTA.
He enjoyed traveling, especially to Europe and Maine, and was an enthusiastic gardener and loved animals.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Jane E. Davis and her fiancé, Scott Frisch, of Schnecksville, Julie L. Mueller and her husband, James, of Scarborough, Maine; brothers Anthony Shurilla of Alburtis, Wayne Shurilla of Langhorne; sister Joanne Conroy of Allentown; granddaughters Laura and Caroline Davis, Katie and Sydney Mueller.
He was predeceased by siblings Richard Shurilla and Diane Toth.
