Donald F. Trexler

Donald F. Trexler, 78, of Germansville died Dec. 9, 2015, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

He and his wife Esther J. (Wanamaker) Trexler were married 35 years last March 21.

Born June 23, 1937, in Wescosville, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Cora Anna (Roth) Trexler.

He owned and operated Donald Trexler Excavating, Germansville, since 1965.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Berlin Crisis.

Active in the life of his community, he was past president of the Slatedale/Emerald Lions Club, past District 14-K Governor in 2008-09, and formerly served on the board of directors of Beacon Lodge, camp for the blind and physically challenged.

He was a recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellow Award.

A life member, past president and former fire police captain of Goodwill Fire Co. No. 1, Germansville, he was a charter member of the former Northwestern Ambulance Corps and a life member of the Tri-Boro Sportsman Club, Northampton.

He was a member of the United Church of Christ congregation of Heidelberg Union Church, Heidelberg Township.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Jessica E. Brilla and husband Michael of Stowe, Jennifer E. Lynch and husband Erik of Orefield, Jaclyn E. Kulp and husband Dean of Germansville, David E. Trexler, Deborah A. Keiser, Diane M. Trexler and Denise E. Trexler, all of Germansville; siblings Herbert H. Trexler and wife Connie of Alburtis, Maryann E. Hawk and husband Roger of Germanville; and four grandsons.

He was predeceased by a brother, Eugene Trexler.
