Melanie J. Cowling, 42, died Nov. 30, 2015.

She was the daughter of Susan and David Cowling and the mother to Nathan, who was the love of her life.

Having a heart of gold, she loved her cats, chickens, bunnies and butterflies and always was the caregiver to any wayward animal that happened on her doorstep.

A graduate of Parkland High School and Lincoln Technical Imstitute, she worked in property management.

In addition to her parents and son, she is survived by her companion of several years Dave Hein; sisters Michele Cowling of Virginia, Melissa Danner and her husband, Roy, and their sons Briggs and Gavin.

Her services will be private.
