Starting at the top, Liberty High School swim coach Reik Foust is looking to his seniors for fun, guidance, and leadership this year.

“That’s who we look to. They know the ropes, and they know what’s going on. They’re the ones who lead us through it, and keep us going,” Foust said.

Some of those seniors include Jocelyn Baker, Kayla Drago, Chloe Kobus, Nolan Vannatta, John Butillo, and Reid Rossi.

“Because of the strength of the senior girls, they should match up well against most teams. Those meets, we’ll have to really pay attention to,” said Foust. “The boys should have really good meets with Parkland, Emmaus, Southern Lehigh, and I don’t know what Freedom has.”

Last season, the Hurricanes qualified four swimmers in every event for districts. The outcome of the district meet was a second place for Liberty’s boys’ team and a third place for Liberty’s girls’ team.

“Our goal is to improve on that, and there’s not a lot of room at the top,” Foust said.
