Gift collection is underway
Gockley, Steckel and Zephyr elementary students and staff are collecting new and unwrapped gift items. There are boxes in the buildings for the collection. The items will be distributed to local families in need.
Suggested items include books (K-8), games, craft kits, movies, CDs, school supplies, gift wrap, gift cards, blankets, throws, pillows, hats, mittens, scarves and winter coats.
The drive will continue until Dec. 15. Thank you for helping make the season merry and bright for those in need.

Gockley Elementary School students have begun participating in Crayola’s recycling program called “Color Cycle.” It involves recycling dried-up, used markers for clean energy.
Instead of throwing away old markers, collect them and send them in a resealable bag to school with your child.
The program is being coordinated by the building’s art teacher, Mr. Brader. Parents can visit crayola.com/colorcycle for more information.
