Faith Lutheran plans Dec. 6 tea

On Dec. 6, Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road, will host a Christmas tea 2-4 p.m. in Parker Hall of the church.

Each table is decorated in a holiday theme. Sandwiches, cheese, Christmas cookies and tea will be served. Entertainment will be provided by Northampton Show Choir.

A portion of the ticket cost will be donated to purchase items for Whitehall Food Bank.

Hokendauqua Park & Playground Association would like to invite the community to come out to see Santa Dec. 13.

Santa will be riding through the streets of Hokendauqua on a company fire truck beginning noon and also will be distributing oranges and candy.

A bad weather date is scheduled for Dec. 20.

Whitehall Woman’s Club will meet at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church 7 p.m. Dec. 14. The evening’s program will feature Air Products Chorus.

Members are reminded to bring cans of tuna for the food bank.

The Hokendauqua Chapter of Trout Unlimited is hosting its monthly meeting 6:30 p.m. Dec. 16 at Catasauqua High School in room C219. Charles Monko will speak on his experiences at River Conservation Camp.

The school is located at 2500 Bullshead Road, Northampton.

Additionally, registration for the chapter’s fly-tying classes held in January and February 2016 are being accepted. The classes will run 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturdays from Jan. 9 to Feb. 27 at Northampton Area Middle School.

Classes include a manual, all materials and in-class use of fly-tying tools. For those 18 and older, there is a cost. For those under 18 and for active or disabled veterans, the classes are free.

Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church will hold a “longest night” service 4 p.m. Dec. 20.

The holiday season can be very difficult for some - whether it is because of a loved one lost, unemployment, broken relationships, illness, etc. This special service welcomes individuals facing these difficulties, as well as anyone who would like to hear prayers, scripture and music.
