Library raffle features 50 items for 50 years

Whitehall Township Public Library’s fall raffle is underway! We have 50 items for the 50th anniversary of the library for you to bid on. We have something to interest everyone.

Purchase your tickets at the front circulation desk for a cost. The drawing will be noon Dec. 5.

Some of the items include an antique high chair, a three-quart slow cooker (Chefman), a 10-cup coffeepot (Proctor Silex), a 16-piece beverage set (Anchor), a 16-piece glassware set (Reno), a 32-ounce electric hot pot (Chefman), a 32-ounce travel vacuum bottle (Lifestyle), a bicycle (Schwinn) and adult S/M helmet (Cycle Products), a Chilean Barbie, a Happy Holidays Barbie, a horses and ponies puzzle box (Shure), a Millennium Princess Barbie, a Miss Ashley doll (1989 Pat Thompson doll), a Princess Barbie, a teddy bear set - Barnaby Bear (Bears from the Past), a Ted E. Bearington bear (The Bearington Collection), a bumble bee bear with wings (Boyd Bears), a sun-shaped outdoor wall décor, a towel ring (Jamestown), a weed wacker (Ratchet) and a “Welcome Friends” painted wood sign (Audrey’s).

The library will close 5 p.m. Thanksgiving Eve (Nov. 25) and will remain closed all day Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 26).

We will be open for regular hours Nov. 27 and 28, so come in to get your books and movies before the holiday and spend Black Friday with us!

Family storytime and craft session will be held Dec. 2, 9 and 16. Patrons can attend either the 1 or 7 p.m. session.

We will read stories and have fun with a craft.

From 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 3, we will have a party with light refreshments to end our 50th anniversary year.

At 7 p.m., we will have the barbershop quartet ffourtissimo here, offering a wholesome blend of close harmony and a capella singing. This quartet will entertain and delight all ages.

What a good way to end our 50th anniversary at the library.

On Dec. 8, we will be making cards to hand out to residents at Fellowship Manor. From 5-7 p.m., anyone age 6 and older can stop by and make a card to give to the facility’s residents. We need 104 cards created.

We will supply the card stock, markers, stickers, etc. Just bring your imagination and help us with this project.

The library is collecting nonperishable canned/boxed food products. All items collected will be given to Whitehall Food Pantry.

The food pantry is looking for items such as soup, Hamburger Helper, cereal, paper towels, toilet paper, tissues and canned pet food.

Items may be dropped off during regular library hours.
