Francis H. Brobst, 88, of Allentown, formerly from Wescosville, New Providence, N.J., Tehran, Iran, and Walnutport, died Nov. 12 in Lehigh Valley Hospital.
He was the loving husband of the late Elsie L. (Clauser) Brobst and the beloved companion of Anna Mae Greenawalt.
Born in Guthsville in 1926, he was a son of the late Luther O. and Mabel G. (Dengler) Brobst.
An Allentown High School graduate, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University and a Master’s in Business Administration degree from Lehigh University.
He was a flight engineer on seaplanes in the Navy from 1944-46.
He was an inspector and certified reliability and quality engineer for Western Electric and American Bell International spanning a career of more than 30 years before retiring in 1986.
A member of Weisenberg Lutheran Church, New Tripoli, he served on church council.
He was a member of Lehigh Lodge 326 F.&A.M and Slatington Lodge 440 F.&A.M.
His survivors include a son, Michael L. and his wife, Sharon, of Dublin, Ohio: daughter, Nancy J., wife of Raymond Smith of Chino Hills, Calif.; grandchildren Bradley F., Bradley M., and Ashley; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister Dorothy Schellhammer.
