A. Paul Bastian

A. Paul Bastian, 86, of South Whitehall, died Nov. 9, 2015, in Lehigh Valley Hospital.

He and his wife Marian A. (Reichard) Bastian were married 64 years.

Born in Cetronia, he was the son of the late Albert R. and Anna A. (Bortz) Bastian.

He was a member of Cedar Lutheran Church, South Whitehall, where he served as sexton, choir member, Sunday School Administrator, Eucharistic minister and on church council.

He was a floor installer for Bastian Floor Covering, Trexlertown, for 50 years before retiring in 1996.

He served with the Cetronia Fire Company as a past president, on the board of Directors, and as assistant chief.

A founding member, he was a captain of Cetronia Ambulance Corps.

He was a charter member of the Trojan Alumni Club and also a member of Paul R. Wieand Folklore Group for more than 50 years.

He was a participant and director of the Minstrel group with the fire company.

He was involved with his Pennsylvania Dutch heritage through various organizations.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Richard P. and wife, Mary, of Allentown, John A. and wife, Donna, of Sorrento Fla., David W. and wife, Cheryl, of Schnecksville; daughters Alice R., wife of Ronald Stahley, of Schnecksville, Dorothy Ann, wife of Philip Horlacher, of Breinigsville; sister, Jean Davis, of Melbourne Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by brothers Robert and Bill.

Contributions may be made to the church memorial Fund.
