Library marks 50 years with fall fundraiser

The fall fundraiser is underway at Whitehall Township Public Library. We have had a lot going on this year for our 50th anniversary, and we would like to continue more programs in 2016. We strive to help residents of Whitehall and the surrounding areas.

Any contribution would be appreciated and is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. You can print out the form from our website or pick one up at the front desk.

The library is collecting nonperishable canned/boxed food products. All items collected will be given to Whitehall Food Pantry.

The food pantry is looking for items, such as soup, Hamburger Helper, cereal, paper towels, toilet paper, tissues and canned pet food.

Items may be dropped off during regular library hours.

The third Monday open mic and jam night will be held 6:30 p.m. Nov. 16.

Entertainers interested in performing three songs or a 15-minute set are asked to sign up around 6:15 p.m. Musicians, singers, poets, comedians, actors, writers, storytellers, mimes, etc., can come and show off their stuff.

We also welcome you to just come and be part of the audience.

Rocking the Valley Internet Radio will be doing a show here at the library Nov. 16 and Dec. 21 during Monday open mic and jam nights.

***

We will have movie night at the library 6:15 p.m. Nov. 17. The movie shown will be “Back to Jurassic.” This event is free and open to the public.

Our huge fall book sale will be held 9:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Nov. 19, 9:30-5 p.m. Nov. 20 and 9:30-3 p.m. Nov. 21.

There is a cost per bag filled.

Donations are accepted during regular library hours, but there is a limit of three boxes or three bags per person per day.

As you begin your holiday shopping, consider supporting the library through online fundraising. The library is able to receive donations from Amazon. A percentage of your total purchase can benefit the library. Amazon requires shoppers to use smile.amazon.com for the library to benefit from this program. Make sure you select Whitehall Township Public Library as the charitable organization.

The library now accepts donations via PayPal. Use your credit card or PayPal balance to donate to the library. See the link on the library’s main website, whitehallpl.org/index.html.
