Erma A. Remaley

Erma A. Remaley, 86, of Slatington, died Nov. 9, 2015, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

She was the wife of the late Ernest W. Remaley.

Born Aug. 23, 1929, in North Whitehall Township, she was the daughter of the late Herbert L. and Minnie F. (Snyder) Mantz.

She was a milk processor at Riverview Farms, Walnutport, for 16 years before retiring in 1988.

Active in the life of her church and community, she was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Laurys Station, where she formerly served as church secretary, church school primary superintendent and teacher, chairperson of the bazaar committee, and sang with the choir.

She also was a life member of the Laurys Fire Co. No. 1, as well as past president of the former ladies auxiliary.

She was a member of the former Laurys Grange.

Her survivors include children Dale E. and his wife, Doris, of Slatington, Donna L. Henninger and her husband, Oliver, of Schnecksville; grandchildren Kevin M. Remaley and Lisa M. Zwierzyna; many nieces and nephews.

She predeceased by siblings Earl, Clair, Edmund, Harold, LaRoy and Donald Mantz, and Catherine Frack.

Her funeral service will take place 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 13, at St. John’s UCC, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, with the Rev. Dr. James T. Gottwald officiating.

Family and friends may pay their respects 1-2:30 p.m. Friday in the church.

Interment will follow the service in the adjacent church cemetery.
