Dale W. Ahner

Dale W. Ahner, 82, of Hokendauqua, died peacefully Nov. 5, 2015, surrounded by his loving and dedicated family.

Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late John and Ellen (Blose) Ahner,

He and his wife Lois C. (Fisher) Ahner were married 33 years.

An airman first class with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict, he returned home a disabled veteran, and proudly became a member of Jones-Quigg American Legion Post 739, where he was a flag bearer with the honor guard.

He retired in 1995 as a supervisor at Just Born, Bethlehem, after 35 years of service.

An avid sports fan, fisherman and hunter, he was a member of the Ontelaunee Rod and Gun Club and the Rural Sportsmen’s Association.

Blessed with a green thumb, he loved to tend his garden and flowers.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Donald Laury and his wife, Doralene, of Colorado; daughters Cynthia Ahner of Bethlehem, Sharon Heminitz and her husband, William, of Breinigsville, Susan Sprague of Pen Argyl, and Loree Jarvis of Northampton; grandchildren Kassie, Jeff, Nicholas, Aisha, Paul and Jonathan.

He was predeceased by children Bruce and Diane Ahner, along with his siblings.
