Pennsylvania Secretary of Education Pedro Rivera visited the Lehigh Valley during Manufacturing Week, joining Parkland students engaged in the Dream It-Do It PA Program for a tour of Bosch Rexroth offices and manufacturing facilities.
Rivera cited the importance of engaging the industrial and professional communities to involve them in exposing students at an early age to potential careers in manufacturing.
He called the visit a great experience and said he was impressed with the robotic technology used. Fifty-eight students from Parkland, enrolled in an elective course called Project Lead the Way – Principles of Engineering, saw a modern manufacturing process first hand.
Dream It-Do It PA started in 2013 to raise awareness about manufacturing careers and is a partnership directed by the Manufacturers Resource Center
