Dallas S. Schaeffer, 88, of Topton, died Oct. 29, 2015, in The Lutheran Home at Topton.

He was predeceased by his wife Althea E. (Heiser) Schaeffer in 2012.

Born in Rockland Township, he was a son of the late Harry and H. Andora ( Breidigam) Schaeffer.

A fuel delivery man for George Y. Brubaker Inc., Kutztown, for 35 years,he retired in 1989.

He later was a school bus driver for the Fleetwood School District for approximately eight years.

A member of Christ (Mertz) Lutheran Church, Fleetwood, he was also a 1945 graduate of Kutztown High School.

He served his country honorably as a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

His survivors include daughters, Kim S., wife of Russel M. Pilgert, of Kempton and Tina A., wife of Thomas B. Haney, of Harleysville; grandchildren Thomas R. and Stac Pilgert, Nicole and Jason Zimmerman, and Katelyn R. Haney; and four great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by siblings Arlene Schwoyer, Myrle Herman and Walter Schaeffer.

His graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
