Police arrested a man for threatening and striking his pregnant girlfriend and prohibiting her from leaving their residence Oct. 17.

According to police, Miguel Rios, 22, of William Street, hit the woman in the head, pulled her hair, bit her on the cheek and threatened to kill her and the unborn child.

He kept her from leaving or calling for help for about six hours.

Rios is charged with harassment, threats, reckless endangerment, simple assault and false imprisonment.
