LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Whitehall Library hosts program on searching family history

Family research is on the agenda 6-8 p.m. Oct. 29. Stop by, and we will show you several of the resources available. We will discuss some of our databases (Ancestry Online, Sanborn Maps and Heritage Quest), which are located on the library homepage, whitehallpl.org. We will also introduce you to some other helpful websites, such as NARA (National Archives and Records Administration). It is free and open to the public.

The library will host its own Trick or Treat 2-3 p.m. Oct. 30. Come to the library for some fall fun.

The kids can enjoy a story and craft time with members of our teen advisory board. Some books will be spooky, while others will be silly. Fun will be had by all!

Open mic and jam night will be held Nov. 16. Rocking the Valley Internet Radio will be doing its show here at the library. Entertainers interested in performing three songs or a 15-minute set are asked to sign up by 6:15 p.m. Musicians, singers, poets, comedians, actors, writers, storytellers, mimes, etc., are encouraged to participate. We also welcome you to just come and be part of the audience.

We have movie nights at the library the third Tuesday of each month.

At 6:15 p.m. Nov. 17, we will feature “Back to Jurassic.” These events are free and open to the public.

Our huge fall book sale will be held 9:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Nov. 19, 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 20 and 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 21. There is a cost per bag filled. Donations are accepted during regular library hours, but there is a limit of three boxes or bags per person per day.
