Sol S. Spinosa, 92, of Macungie, formerly of Allentown, died Oct. 13, 2015, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Vivian F. (Whitcoe) Spinosa. They celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary in September. Born in Sulmona, Italy, he was a son of the late Constantino J. and Nunziata Rose (Malvestuto) Spinosa, Sr.
He was the owner/operator of the former D&C Spinosa Construction Co. in Allentown. Additionally he was an operating engineer for local #542.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a recipient of a Purple Heart for wounds he received.
He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Emmaus.
He is survived by his wife; son, Steven S. and wife Diane, of Catasauqua; daughters, Regina A. and her husband Gary Lavelle, of Virginia Beach, Va., Marie Y. and her husband Keith Drozda and Christina and her husband Richard Schwab, both of Allentown; brothers, Ercole and his wife Patricia, of Allentown, and Vito and his wife Sherry, of Schnecksville; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by siblings, Constantino J. Jr., Nancy Angelone and Rosina.
Arrangements were made by the O’Donnell Funeral Home, Allentown.
