A new Lehigh County 4-H Club has formed specifically for the youngest 4-H group.

Youngsters who are looking to engage in their local community through 4-H projects, community based service projects, and fun activities with other kids their age is welcoming new members.

The 4-H Cloverbud Club is a group of young children led by an adult helper.

Just like the 4-H Program for older children, the purpose of the Cloverbud program is to help young children learn life skills to become competent, caring, and contributing citizens.

Youth (ages 5-8 as of Jan. 1, 2015) in Lehigh County who are interested in participating in a community based club are welcome to join.

The members of the club will participate in fun, hands-on, developmentally appropriate 4-H Cloverbud activities such as: plants and animals, science and technology, community expressive arts, healthy living, environmental and earth science, personal development, citizenship and civic education, and family and consumer science.

Youth are expected to participate as equal members in the club.

Members will be encouraged to share ideas for future projects and activities.

Club registration will be limited to allow for a successful experience for all members. Club leaders are screened volunteers.

The Cloverbud Club will meet twice a month on Tuesday 7-8 p.m. October through May. at the Lehigh County Ag Center, near Dorney Park, South Whitehall.
