Joanne S. Wentz, 75, of Center Valley, died Oct. 19, 2015, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill.
She was the widow of Dieter Wentz who died in September, 2014.
Born in Palmerton, she was the daughter of the late John and Pauline (Lokay) Balliet.
She was a medical technologist for the former Lehigh Valley Laboratories for many years, including primary responsibilities as a phlebotomist/hematologist.
She received an Associate’s degree in arts and sciences from Lehigh Carbon Community College, Schnecksville.
She was a member of Jordan Lutheran Church, Orefield.
She had many interests, and was passionate about those involving nature and animals.
A talented landscape designer by instinct, she created a variety of beautiful destination points in her backyard for birds, animals and people to enjoy.
A loving mother and wonderful grandmother, she often shared her passions with her grandchildren as they spent time in the backyard or walked along the Saucon Rail Trail or Lehigh Valley Parkway.
Her survivors include daughters Lisa, wife of Paul Hellmuth, of Quincy, Mass. and Melanie, wife of Jamie Bosler, of Coopersburg, grandchildren Joey Welsh, and Eric and Amanda Hellmuth; nieces and nephews.
