Donald L. Grammes, 86, of Allentown, died Oct. 21, 2015, at home.

He was the husband of the late Lorraine D. (Raph) Grammes.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Lester A. and Rosa E. (Bitting) Grammes.

After receiving his chemistry degree from Muhlenberg College, where he also played football, he was a plant manager for the former Lone Star Cement Company, before retiring in 1993 from the Nazareth location.

He served in the U.S. Air Force, being stationed in Anchorage, Alaska.

He was a dedicated member of Allentown West, Western Lehigh County Rotary Club and enjoyed hunting and watching football.

He was a member of Morgenland Church, Orefield.

His survivors, son, Roark D. and his wife, Michele, of Allentown; and brother Dale of Georgia.

He was predeceased by a brother Rodney.
