Donald A. Wilt

Donald A. Wilt, 79, of Macungie, Longswamp Township, died peacefully Oct. 9, 2015, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of Joan S. (Koren) Wilt. They celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary Nov. 30. Born in Macungie, he was the son of the late John A. Wilt and Elizabeth V. (Kline) Wilt, of Macungie.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed wildlife and agriculture. He was a graduate of the Perkiomen Agricultural School and a former member of Unami Fish and Game Association and Alburtis Rod and Gun Club.

As a young adult he assisted in the family farm business, raising chickens and delivering eggs. For over 30 years he was employed by Wieand & Co. of Emmaus, delivering cinderblock to construction sites throughout the Lehigh Valley.

With family roots in Cetronia and Fredericksville, he was proud of his Pennsylvania German heritage and was able to speak the dialect fluently.

He is survived by his wife; brother, John H., of Santa Rosa, Calif.; sister, Patricia A. Lichtenwalner, of Twin Mountain, N.H., along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Irene A. Glase, Betty C. Seibert and Jean.

Arrangements were made by the Boyko Funeral Home, Macungie.
