When it comes to picking colleges, Bethlehem Catholic quarterback Julian Spigner was looking for the best fit.
Fortunately for Spigner, he didn’t have to look far, as he verbally committed to play football at Lafayette next fall.
Spigner made the announcement last week, joining Easton quarterback Tre Jordan, as EPC signal-callers making the move to College Hill.
“I was really looking for a school that was the best fit for me, my personality and where I can have the most success, both athletically and academically,” Spigner said. “Central Connecticut State and Fordham were interested, but Lafayette was just the best option.”
Spigner earned all-state honors as a junior and has 1,132 passings yards this season and eight touchdowns. He’s also amassed 483 yards on the ground and nine scores.
Where he ends up playing at Lafayette is also up in the air. Spigner said he has a chance to play quarterback, but is more likely to play wide receiver.
“I’ve never played wide receiver, but I think I’ll be alright making that transition,” he said. “I know I can do it. I just need to get coached up a little bit. Quarterback is the hardest position to play, so I feel that I’ll be able to adjust in that role.”
