All three Bethlehem teams qualified for the District 11 volleyball tournament, as the action gets underway Thursday night in 3A and 2A classifications.
Liberty earned the second seed in 3A after losing to Parkland in Saturday’s EPC championship and will take on the winner of the 7-10 matchup between Whitehall and Pottsville at 7 p.m. at Memorial Gymnasium. Third-seeded Nazareth will meet sixth-seeded Freedom in the other quarterfinal matchup in the bottom bracket, taking place at Nazareth at 6pm.
In the top half, top-seeded Parkland will meet either Stroudsburg (8) or Southern Lehigh (9), while Emmaus and Pleasant Valley battle in a 4-5 matchup.
In 2A, Bethlehem Catholic opens up play at 6pm tomorrow against Panther Valley in a 4-5 contest at Becahi.
Top-seeded Notre Dame-Green Pond battles eighth seeded Jim Thorpe in the other contest at the top of the bracket.
Blue Mountain (3) and Saucon Valley (6) square off in the bottom bracket, while second-seeded Central Catholic meets Lehighton (7 seed) in the other matchup.
Semifinals in both classifications take place on November 3, with finals slated for Nov. 5.
