Francis Pecuch
Francis J. Pecuch, 66, of Bethlehem, died Oct. 19, 2015. He was a son of the late Francis J. Pecuch, Sr. and Blanche (Davco) Pecuch. He was the husband of Kathleen “Kathy” (Seeds) Pecuch.
He was a 1967 graduate of Liberty High School and attended Northampton Community College. He was a medic in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was with the 95th Evacuation Hospital, “China Beach”.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Kutztown University and a master’s degree in human resources from the University of Scranton. He had certification in nursing administration and a license as a nursing home administrator.
He was a nursing supervisor at and a president of the board of trustees for Allentown State Hospital. He was the director of nursing at Cedarbrook Nursing Home and the assistant director of corrections/medical for the Lehigh County Prison. He was the superintendent of the Lehigh County Juvenile Detention Center, from which he retired in 2004.
He was a member of the Jefferson Democratic Club, Sokols Club, Steel City Gun Club, Bethlehem Recreation Commission and First Windish Fraternal Benefits Society. He was a member of the Lehigh Carbon Community College nursing advisory board. He was a coach for many years at North Central Little League.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kolleen and husband, Richard Ganser of Allentown; a son, Kyle F. and his wife Katelyn of Hellertown; three grandchildren, Meghan Sebeth, Grace Ganser and Lyla Pecuch; a brother, Thomas Pecuch of Coopersburg; a sister-in-law, Renee Pecuch of Center Valley; and a sister, Jeanne and her husband Chris Remmel of Coopersburg.
