Zephyr plans Red Ribbon activities
Zephyr Elementary Autumn Antics and Red Ribbon Week begins Oct. 26. The students and staff at Zephyr Elementary will be participating in special activities. Each day will be a planned fall activity for the building. Students will be bring home a detailed sheet listing the activities.

Steckel Elementary will host “Turn Your Back on Drugs” Oct. 26. Students and staff are encouraged to wear clothing backward or inside out. Join the fun for a great cause -the fight against drugs.

Gockley Elementary’s “Wear Red Day” is scheduled for Oct. 26 and 27. Students are invited to wear red, which shows nationwide support for the efforts to reduce the demand for drugs in our country. Children may wear red socks, shirts, pants, shoelaces, hair ribbons, etc. Please join in this schoolwide effort.

Gockley’s Halloween community project will be a real treat. On Oct. 30, students, staff, families and friends are encouraged to bring in a canned food item. There will be a drop-off box at the school office. There also will be a drop-off box during the annual Halloween parade at the school. This is a one-day event. The food items will be donated to a local food pantry. This will be a great way for students to learn how to help their neighbors and community.

Cafeteria updates to remember: Any child approved for free or reduced lunches will receive the daily meal and a beverage. Additional items are not included. Parents may deposit funds in their child’s account if they would like their child to purchase additional items.
Breakfast has also begun. The menu is posted on the October lunch menu.
