To the Editor:
In East Penn, candidate Chris Donatelli wants your vote for school board. But be wary of what he says.
Donatelli talks about bringing increased transparency to the board. However, throughout his campaign he has been secretive. He failed to fill out his League of Women Voter’s Guide, he decided to avoid a meet the candidate’s night and he provided no online information about his positions.
Donatelli likes to talk about bringing increased information to the public. But, he is deceiving the voters about being able to replace state standards with local control of curriculum.
First, school districts already have local control of their curriculum. Second, school districts cannot ignore state law no matter how politically popular it may sound. Misinformation and false claims are not something that will improve education in East Penn.
So should we believe what Donatelli says or what he actually does?
On Nov. 3 voters in East Penn can say no to Chris Donatelli and his deception. East Penn voters can say yes to continued educational excellence by voting Ken Bacher, Wally Vinovskis, Richard Mathesz, Paul Champagne and Chuck Ballard.
