Ronald K. Werley, 79, of Allentown, died Oct. 8, 2015, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
He was the widower of Elizabeth A. (Herrick) Werley.
Born in Lowhill Township. he was a son of the late Clayton B. and Lillian (Shoemaker) Werley.
He worked in electrical sales for 30 years at Lighting Fixture and Supply Co., Allentown, before retiring in 2000, but continued to work part time for the company following retirement.
Also, he was a tax collector for Lowhill Township for 15 years during which time he was a member of the Pennsylvania State Tax Collector’s Association.
He was a founding member of Hope Community Church, Orefield, where he served as the financial secretary for many years.
A very active member of Grundsow Lodge No. 1 he was a former member of the Lowhill Township Planning Commission.
He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Fogelsville.
He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army.
His survivors include a sister Elva Hausman and husband Herbert of Chesterfield, Mo.; two nieces; friend Kay Kleinschuster of Fogelsville and her family, John and Tracy, Karen and Rudy, and Emily, Katie, and Nathan.
