Commitment to Family and Community (CFC), 165 Cherry St., will have a Longaberger basket bingo 7 p.m. Oct. 23.

Other planned events for CFC are a meat raffle 1 p.m. Nov. 1 and a craft show 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 8.

Borough children are anxious for Oct. 30 when Coplay holds Trick-or-Treat Night 6-8 p.m.

Costumed boys and girls will go to homes that have porch lights on. Borough police will have extra officers out patrolling, ensuring the safety of young ones.

The rain date is Oct. 31.

Don’t wait until the holidays to show your interest in small miniature trains. An Explorer Scout post each Thursday evening will work on various scales of model trains and layouts on the second floor at borough hall, Fourth and Center streets. All ages are invited to drop in or participate in this annual endeavor.

Studio 5678 dance studio students were recently photographed in front of the Saylor Park Cement Kilns for the studio’s website.

Studio owner Janet Keppel said the girls were excited about the exposure they received.

The borough public works department has prepared its snow plows. The borough also has an ample supply of road salt available just in case Old Man Winter deposits an early snowfall, as was the case not too many winters ago.
