LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Trip to PME awaits

Emmaus head coach Randy Cuthbert is happy that his team has won the last two games, but he thinks it could have won more. The Hornets (3-4 overall) defeated Northampton and Central Catholic in back-to-back weeks, but have lost some games that could have gone their way if the ball bounced the other way.

With a four-game losing streak in the rear view mirror Emmaus is riding high after the 28-21 homecoming win last Friday night over the Vikings.

“This win gives us more confidence,” Cuthbert said. “I felt that we were getting better after the first few games, but there was nothing to show for it.”

Now Emmaus looks for three in a row on Friday night with a trip out to the Poconos to square off against Pocono Mountain East (2-5).

The Cardinals were shut out by Bethlehem Catholic last week, 46-0.

But Cuthbert knows anything can happen on any given night. And he is preaching to his team all week to not take PM East lightly.

“It’s like a one week season for us each week,” said Cuthbert. “They are talented. They have big size up front and with their linebackers.”

A win on Friday night puts Emmaus back to .500 with two games remaining against Whitehall and Parkland.
