Star T-Shirt Day for Steckel students

Steckel Star T-Shirt Day is tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 16. Students who have Star Ts are encouraged to wear them.

Gockley’s Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A Restaurant is set for 5-7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 16. Families, staff and friends are urged to support the school’s activities by stopping by Chick-fil-A at the Lehigh Valley Mall.

The school will receive 20 percent of sales during this time. These funds will be put toward the next new piece of playground equipment.

Students of the class with the highest participation will receive coupons for free kids’ meals. Students will receive a special form that is needed when you come out for the event. Come join the fun!

Whitehall Little Zephyr Wrestling registration is underway.

All students in grades kindergarten through sixth grade are invited to participate in the Little Zephyr Wrestling Program.

Registration will be held 6-7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 19, in the middle school wrestling room. Please bring a copy of your child’s birth certificate.

Also, there will be a parent meeting at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 26, in the middle school’s wrestling room.

Gockley “Wear Red Day” is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 26. “Wear Red Day” will show the nationwide support for the efforts to reduce the demand for drugs in our country.

Zephyr Elementary Autumn Antics and Red Ribbon Week begins Monday, Oct. 26.

The students and staff at Zephyr will be participating in special fall activities. Each day will be a planned fall activity for the building. Students will be bringing home a detailed paper with the activities.

On Monday, it is “Wear Red Day” for Red Ribbon Week to support the fight against drugs.

Gockley’s Halloween Community Project will be a real “treat.” On Friday, Oct. 30, students, staff, families and friends are encouraged to bring in a canned food item for the one-day event.

There will be a box at the school office to drop off the items. There will also be a drop-off box during the annual Halloween parade at the school.

The food items will be donated to the local food pantry. This will be a great way for students to learn how to help and show kindness to their neighbors and community.

Cafeteria updates to remember: Any child approved for free or reduced lunches will receive the daily meal and beverage.

Additional items are not included. Parents may deposit funds in their child’s account if they would like their child to purchase additional items.

Breakfast has also begun. The menu is posted on the October lunch menu that students have received.
