John Matthew Kisly, 89, of Slatington, died Oct. 8, 2015, in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.
He was the husband of Barbara D. (Gellis) Kisly to whom he was married 14 years last Nov. 25, and the late Florence M. (Piorkowski) Kisly.
Born Nov. 26, 1925, in Elizabeth City, Union County, N.J, he was the son of the late Frank V. and Mary (Czyc) Kisly.
He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Landing Craft Infantry.
A production line worker at Anheuser-Bush Brewery, Newark, N.J. for 25 years, he retired in 1991.
He was a member of the Evergreen Club, Oley, and the Coplay Saengerbund.
An avid polka and ballroom dancer, he also enjoyed flea markets and the outdoors.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by stepchildren Anita A. Galli and her husband, Matthew, of Golden, Colo., Ronald C. Verba Jr. and his wife, Carolyn, of Slatington, Jamie D. Verba and his wife, Marisa, of Palmerton; and grandchildren Katelyn, Corinne, Ronald, Jr., Jamie Jr., Tiffany, Maxwell, John, Jesse and Joseph.
He was predeceased by seven siblings.
