Coming Events

Oct. 15: Community Advisory Council, 7 p.m. in the district administration center. The topic will be the college application process and student activities. A presentation will be made by high school guidance counselor Eric Roberts. The public is invited to attend.

Oct. 19-24: High school Homecoming and Spirit Week.

Homecoming’s theme for this year is “One World, Many Ways to Serve” with proceeds supporting the Navy Marine Corps Society.

Homecoming week kicks off with the Garter Bowl Oct. 21.

Homecoming football game and float parade will be Oct. 23 followed by the Homecoming Dance on Oct. 24.

Homecoming festivities are organized by Parkland High School Student Council. Julie Wood is the teacher and club advisor.

Nominations for the Distinguished Alumni Wall of Honor are due Nov. 30.

There are runners from the classes of ’85 through ’05 signed up to race in the first ever Alumni Turkey Trot.

Register for the Parkland Alumni 5k Turkey Trot and Kid’s Wild Turkey Sprint on Nov. 27 at parklandsd.org/foundation/turkey_trot.

This event is open to the entire community. One need not have attended Parkland to participate.
