LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Article By: KENNETH BLEILERSpecial to The Press

Township Secretary Brenda Norder opened the North Whitehall supervisors Oct. 5 meeting by reading a letter from the North Whitehall Emergency Services Organization thanking the board for its donation.

The organization received a financial contribution approved at a previous meeting.

A letter from Lehigh Engineering was received requesting a time extension for the review of the Parkland Hollows subdivision.

The board granted an extension until Dec. 8.

A six-month extension was also granted for the Timm and Nancy Stoudt subdivision.

Dave Conner of Quarry Street commented about the adjacent property which is up for sale.

The sign states sewer and water are available, however, he noted only sewer was available.

Supervisor Steve Pany opined this meant the water line, which is nearby, could be extended to that property.

Conner said the sign is misleading and should be corrected.

The township has little control over sign content and will not pursue the matter.

Jonathan Bennett and several of his neighbors on Redwood Drive questioned the availability of snow plowing on the street.

He was told the developer was still owner of this section and is responsible for snow removal.

The developer, who was apparently was told the township would remove snow, if reimbursed for doing so, said the fee was too high and decided not to pursue the matter.

The last season snow was plowed was the winter of 2012-13.

Norder told everyone the board will have a special budget meeting 7:30 p.m. Oct. 19.

Also, Trick-or-Treat Night will be 6-8 p.m. Oct. 30, rain or shine.
