Come out and enjoy the inaugural homecoming parade Oct. 16
It is parade time!
The student government of Salisbury High School is holding its inaugural homecoming parade 5:15 to 6:16 p.m. Oct. 16. Township residents are encouraged to sit along the parade route which starts at Salisbury Road, continues to Tweed Avenue, on to Montgomery Street and ends at the high school. Everyone is then invited to stay for the homecoming football game against Northern Lehigh.
The homecoming dance will be held 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 17 in the high school gym.
Western Salisbury Elementary School students and staff will enjoy Barnyard Bonanza week the days leading up to the Fall Fest Oct. 23.
Starting Oct. 19 and 22, a special guest will play a game during the gym classes of grades three to five. On Oct. 20 and 22, a special guest will read farm stories to students in kindergarten through second grade during library class and students are allowed to bring in a small pillow to get more comfortable.
On Oct. 21, students and staff can dress up as their favorite farmer or farm animal. A WSE T-shirt day will be held Oct. 23 along with a pep rally 2 p.m. featuring Weston Boots the Reading Rodeo Cowboy. All of this fun will continue 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Fall Fest with food, fun and pony rides.
Both Salisbury Township elementary schools will hold parent visitation on two different days. Parents may visit 9:30 to 11 a.m. Oct. 20 and 1:30 to 3 p.m. Oct. 22.
Coinciding with parent visitation, WSE will hold the fall Scholastic book fair Oct. 21 through 23.
If your high school student is not happy with the way their picture came out, SHS picture retake day is Oct. 20.
Health screenings will be performed at the high school Oct. 22.
Salisbury Middle School will open its doors for the second dance of the year 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 23.
Athletic physicals for winter sports will be conducted 5 p.m. for boys and 5:45 p.m. for girls in the SMS health room Oct. 29.
A curriculum and technology committee meeting will be held 7 p.m. Oct. 26 at Lehigh Carbon Community College.
The Devonshire yard waste drop-off site will be open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 17 and 20.
