Pates suffer first loss

Freedom’s boys’ cross country team suffered its first loss of the season to Parkland 22-38 last week at Lehigh Parkway.

Michael Geiger led the Trojans to victory in 16:09, as Parkland took seven of the top ten spots.

Dan Quigley placed second in 16:14, Will Alpaugh was fourth in 16:50, and Isaac Gross placed ninth in 17:18, all for the Patriots.

Liberty’s Brendan Reilly came in 11th in 17:41, and teammate, Jonah George was 13th in 17:49. Pedro Larotta placed 16th in 18:05, also from Liberty.

Freedom freshman, Josh Noel, came in 17th in 18:07.

The Hurricanes also lost to Parkland 20-39, as did Bethlehem Catholic 15-50.

John Zemanek and Bryce Orloski both finished in 20:04 for the Hawks, and Andy Haldaman came in four places behind in 20:18.

Becahi, Freedom, and Liberty also competed against Dieruff and Allen in the same meet last week.

The Hawks defeated Dieruff 25-34 and Allen 27-32. The Patriots defeated Dieruff 17-44 and Allen 15-50. The Hurricanes were also victorious over Dieruff 19-42 and Allen 15-46.
