Louise Adams Horak

Louise Adams Horak, 86, of Orefield, formerly of Watchung, N.J., died Sept. 29, 2015.

Born Jan. 15, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Archer and Adele Bachman, who resided in South Orange, N.J.

She and her late husband Raymond Horak were married 33 years.

She performed with the Krazy Kids of the Lehigh County Senior Center, the choir of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, the New Jersey Schola Cantorum, and the Bell Choir of the Crescent Choral Society in Plainfield, N.J., among other musical groups. She graduated from MacMurray College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in music.

Her love of music was superseded only by her love for God and people.

A lifelong member of the First Church of Christ Scientist, she was a volunteer at Daybreak and the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 576.

She touched peoples’ lives daily with her gracious and loving spirit and her love for life.

Her survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lou and Michael Gorzelic, of Orefield; grandchildren Amber Finn and Michael Gorzelic; brother Roger Bachman, of Portland, Ore.; and seven nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her daughter Marjorie Horak and sister Susan Bacchus.
