Height, weight, vision screenings scheduled Oct. 8

Fall is finally here and we’ve been spared yet another hurricane already. The schools are busy and there are lots of activities going on in the schools.

On Oct. 8 there will be height, weight, and vision screenings at the elementary schools. Kindergarten and first grades will also have hearing tests.

The Salisbury High School booster club is selling car magnets. They are available at the SHS concession stand, SHS athletic office, HST front office and the administrative offices.

Oct. 10 is the Eastern Salisbury Fire Department Community Day noon to 4. Come out to the firehouse at 1000 E. Emmaus Ave. to have an afternoon full of fun and fire safety. There will be demonstrations, food and activities.

Schools are closed Oct. 12.

There will be a school board meeting 7:30 p.m. Oct. 12 in the administration building.

On Oct. 15, second and third grade students will have hearing screenings in the elementary schools.

Homecoming is scheduled Oct. 16. There will be a homecoming parade 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. Township residents are encouraged to show support along the parade route which will run from Salisbury Road to Tweed Avenue to Mongomery Street and end at the high school. The homecoming dance is scheduled 7 p.m. Oct. 17.

Both Harry S Truman Elementary School and Western Salisbury Elementary School will welcome parents as they visit their students 9:30 a.m. Oct. 20 and 1:30 p.m. Oct. 22.

There will be a Salisbury Middle School dance 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 23. Look for more information to come home.

The Franco Farm yard waste site will be open 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. Oct. 10 and 13.
