St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 417 Howertown Road, is having a chicken dinner 4:30-6:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 3. The dinner is complete with a choice of a barbecued chicken breast or a barbecued leg quarter, dessert bar and beverages.

The Catasauqua Garden Club will hold its next meeting 1 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 7, at the Slovak Center Social Club, 1233 Fifth St., North Catasauqua. Fred Buse will share a new presentation entitled “Fall Leaves.”

Buse’s colorful presentation will share many fall views and help us to understand how the leaves got so colorful.

Artistic and horticultural exhibits should be in place early to allow for complete judging. Garden-friendly visitors are always welcome, and this fall program is ideal for sampling what the Catasauqua Garden Club has to offer.

The Catasauqua/ North Catasauqua J4 Celebration is coming July 2016, and it is time to begin planning now. Anyone interested in helping to plan the celebration is welcome to attend a meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct, 14, at the Catasauqua American Legion, 330 Second St.
