Library will take part in fall festival
The Whitehall Fall Festival will take place noon-5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, in the Whitehall High School parking lot. Whitehall Lions Club and Whitehall Township Public Library will have a display set up and will be collecting nonperishable cans and box food products. Please stop by our table.
The festival is for local businesses and groups to get together and meet the folks of Whitehall and surrounding communities.

The library will have two sessions on genealogy resources available at the library: 10 a.m.-noon, Saturday, Oct. 10, and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 29. We will be reviewing the resources. In these two sessions, we will show you several of the resources available for family research. We will discuss some of our databases, such as Ancestry Online & Heritage Quest, which are located on the library home- page, whitehallpl.org. The event is free and open to the public.

The Friends of the Whitehall Township Public Library group invites the public to attend its regularly scheduled meetings on the second Friday of each month at 10 a.m. in the library’s community room. We will meet Oct. 9 and Nov. 13 but will have no meeting in December. Please come and join this group to support your library.

At 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 16, we will have a program called “Nation’s Attic (Take a Peek!)” with Patrick Connelly. If you are a history buff or genealogist, or just like to read old items, you may want to do some digging around in old photos and archives. Pat will give us an online tour. Join us as we explore the American past.

The third Monday Open Mic and Jam event will be held Oct. 19. Entertainers interested in performing three songs or a 15-minute set are asked to sign up just before 6:30 p.m. Musicians, singers, poets, comedians, actors, writers, storytellers, mimes, etc., are welcome to show off their stuff! We’d also love for you to just come and be part of the audience.

Movie night is at 6:15 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 20. The movie will be “Scooby-Doo & Kiss: A Rock and Roll Mystery.”
