Betty J. Pollitt

Betty J. Pollitt, 88, formerly of Allentown, died Sept. 26, 2015, in Phoebe Home, Allentown, where she was residing.

She was the wife of the late Stanley E. Pollitt.

Born Aug. 15, 1927, in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Tilghman J. and Marguerite H. (Fatzinger) Frantz.

A member of Jordan United Church of Christ, South Whitehall, she also attended St. John’s Lutheran Church, Coplay.

She was an accomplished soloist and theatrical performer in the Lehigh Valley for many years.

An avid bowler, she belonged to several leagues.

In her younger years, she was a member of the choir and bell choir of the former Salem UCC, Allentown.

Her survivors include children Keith E. and his wife, Linda, of Coplay, Cheryl E. Sinclair and her husband, Roger, of Neffs, Corey L. of Allentown; grandchildren Brian, Tara, Michael and Jarrett; and great-grandchildren Jennifer, Thomas, Rachael, Braden and Madison.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Judy L. DallaPiazza.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Oct. 1, in Jordan UCC, 1837 Church Road, South Whitehall, with the Rev. Dr. David Charles Smith and the Rev. Timothy D. Boyer officiating.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects 10-11 a.m. Thursday in the church parlor.

Private interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Allentown.
