Four Parkland students were selected for the 2015 All-National Honor Ensembles, a prestigious honor ensemble and program of the National Association for Music Education.

This year 673 students from 49 states and territories were accepted.

Freshman Sriyaa Suresh advances as one of 30 finalists in the fifth annual Broadcom MASTERS, a national, prestigious Science, Technology, Engineering and Math competition for middle school students.

As a result of science fair wins at Lehigh Valley and Delaware Valley (tri-state competition) Science Fairs, Suresh qualified to enter the Broadcom Masters competition with more than 2,400 other middle school students from across the United States.

The project was reviewed by a panel of scientists and engineers.

She was first selected as one of 300 semi-finalists and then she was selected as one of 30 finalists.

Suresh will travel to the Silicon Valley Oct. 1 to compete further.

Prizes there will range up to $25,000.

The public is invited to the Community Advisory Council meeting 7 p.m. Oct. 15, in the Administration Center board room. The topic will be the College Application Process and student activities.

A presentation will be made by high school Guidance Counselor Eric Roberts.
